PricePulse tracks every price change a merchant makes and computes the Article 6a / Directive 98/6/EC 30-day reference price, plus the discount percentage the CJEU's ALDI SÜD ruling says must be calculated from that reference price rather than from a recent higher price. It's built for e-commerce merchants who need lawful discount badges without tracking 30-day price history by hand.

EU rules require a 'percentage off' claim to be calculated from the lowest price charged in the preceding 30 days, not from whatever higher price a merchant last charged. PricePulse tracks every price change and computes that reference price itself, with the window ending when the reduction takes effect rather than at the moment of the API call — so a price can never be used as its own reference.

The resulting discount percentage is rounded down, never up, and the API also returns what the naive calculation would have shown — explicitly labelled as something to compare against, never to display — so the gap between the lawful figure and what most shops would have advertised is visible.

Price history is append-only: a correction is recorded as a new point, never an edit, because the history itself is what a regulator would examine. Ingestion accepts either a signed Shopify webhook or a plain REST call, and unchanged prices write nothing so routine edits don't pollute the history.

4 capabilities
Reference-price engine
Computes the Article 6a 30-day low and the CJEU-compliant percentage reduction from a merchant's price-change history with exact decimal arithmetic.
Shopify webhook or plain REST ingestion
Accepts a signed Shopify product webhook or a direct REST call, single or batched; unchanged prices write nothing.
Free, unmetered badge endpoint
Returns the reference price, the lawful percentage, and ready-made storefront badge text, free and unmetered.
Edge-case correctness
Correctly handles newly introduced goods and staged reductions, verified across daylight-saving transitions and same-day multi-change scenarios.
