CrashPatch is a Sentry-compatible crash ingestion service that goes a step past reporting: it groups duplicate crashes, resolves the minified stack frame back to real source, reads the offending file from the connected GitHub repository, and opens a draft pull request with a candidate fix and regression test for a human to review.
CrashPatch speaks the same envelope protocol as Sentry, so an application already using a Sentry SDK can point it at CrashPatch by changing the DSN and nothing else. From there it goes further than reporting: once a crash is grouped and its minified frame resolved via an uploaded source map, CrashPatch reads the real file from the connected repository and opens a draft pull request with a candidate fix and a regression test.
Every output is a draft only — there is no code path that merges, force-pushes, or writes to a default branch. The pull-request body states plainly what was not verified, including that the regression test was not executed, so a reviewer knows exactly how much to trust it before approving anything.
Connecting a repository through the GitHub App grants read access by default; sending code to a model for triage is a separate, explicit opt-in per repository. Billing is per grouped issue, not per crash occurrence, so an error that fires a million times is one investigation.
- Drop-in Sentry compatibility
- Change the DSN, keep the SDK — CrashPatch speaks the Sentry envelope protocol, so no application-side install changes.
- Source-aware triage
- Resolves minified frames via uploaded source maps and reads the real file from the connected repository before any patch attempt.
- Draft-only pull requests
- A candidate fix and regression test are opened as a draft PR for a human to review — never auto-merged.
- Declines honestly when it can't see
- An unresolvable frame or missing repository access is labelled 'declined' with a stated reason, rather than guessed.
